Jurgen Klinsmann’s Team USA will head to Brazil without midfielder Landon Donovan, the team’s all-time leading scorer and perhaps America’s best-known soccer player.
Klinsmann, the U.S. team’s coach, left Donovan off the 23-man team, which was announced on Thursday. The World Cup begins June 12; the U.S.’s first game is June 16 against Ghana.
