Martedì a Chicago, in Illinois, sono caduti più di 22 centimetri di neve. Si tratta della nevicata più intensa dal Groundhog Day Blizzard, una delle maggiori tempeste di neve ad aver colpito il Canada e gli Stati Uniti, tra il 31 gennaio e il 2 febbraio del 2011: in quell’occasione caddero in città più di 53 centimetri di neve. La tempesta di ieri ha lasciato circa 30 mila famiglie senza elettricità, più di mille voli sono stati cancellati e molte scuole sono rimaste chiuse.
