È morto sabato a Los Angeles, a 91 anni, Hal David: per le complicazioni seguite a un infarto. Era stato un grandissimo autore di testi di canzoni, in particolare in collaborazione col compositore Burt Bacharach, e sono sue le parole di molti famosissimi classici degli anni Sessanta. David era nato a New York nel 1921 e conobbe Burt Bacharach nel 1957, dopo che aveva già cominciato a scrivere testi. La loro carriera di autori per altri interpreti fu formidabile, dal successo di “Magic moments” cantata da Perry Como in poi, con diverse canzoni candidate all’Oscar e “Raindrops keep falling on my head” (da Butch Cassidy) che lo vinse. David scrisse canzoni di successo anche con altri autori, tra le quali “We have all the time in the world”, con John Barry: la cantò Louis Armstrong in “007, al servizio segreto di sua maestà”.
